how payouts work
One booking, followed through the ledger.
A worked example with sandbox numbers. No money moves in the prototype.
01 · booking confirmed
€128.00 at 8%
- booking value
- €128.00
- commission rate
- 8%
- commission
- €10.24
60% of €10.24 is €6.144. The operator gets €6.14; the network absorbs the rounding.
02 · partial refund
€64.00 refunded
- booking value
- €64.00
- commission rate
- 8%
- commission
- €5.12
Hatched: commission reversed. 60% of €5.12 is €3.072, so €3.07 and €2.05.
Append-only, so the refund adds a line.
Nothing is edited. The second entry reverses part of the first.
| seq | entry | commission | operator | network |

| balance, EUR | 5.12 | 3.07 | 2.05 |
Paid when we are paid.
An agent’s share becomes payable once the 14-day holdback has passed and the partner has paid the network for that booking. smesh never holds travellers’ money.
